Two Central Lafourche High School Students are facing felony charges after they allegedly tried to frame a male teacher they accused of sending them "inappropriate messages."
According to Sheriff Craig Webre, the students, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, created fake social media accounts and fabricated messages they claimed were sent to them by a male teacher. Webre says the teens then shared screenshots of those fake messages with their classmates.
Webre says the investigation uncovered that the teacher, in fact, did not send those messages and that the teens had made them all up.
The teen suspects, whose names were not disclosed because of their ages, were booked into jail on violating public health and safety, cyberstalking, and online impersonation charges. They were released into the custody of their parents after being fitted with electronic monitoring devices.
