St. John the Baptist Parish officials issued a boil advisory for Laplace residents after a contractor broke a water line. The boil advisory was issued around 6:30 p.m.
"LaPlace will be without water for an estimated 4 to 6 hours while Utilities crews work to make the emergency repairs," the parish said in a statement. "When water is restored, LaPlace will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice."
