Let’s say you twist your ankle on an uneven sidewalk, or worse, fall down and hurt yourself.
Well on Friday, LCMC Health started staffing first aid stations along parade routes in Metairie, Kenner, New Orleans and the Northshore.
These aid stations are staffed by volunteers from local hospitals who are trained in CPR and first aid certified. They can attend to minor injuries and help keep emergency departments from getting overfilled.
They can also dispense needed medical items like hand sanitizer, bandage dispensers, collapsible bags and other items for carnival participants who need them.
