The Louisiana Department of Health is recalling oysters that were harvested off the state's coast in the marshes east of Lake Borgne.

According to officials with the Louisiana Department of Health, oysters harvested in Area 3 since January 10 may be contaminated with norovirus-like illnesses. State authorities say 15 people became ill after eating oysters harvested from Area 3. While two people were hospitalized, officials say the illnesses were not life-threatening.

According to LDH, oysters harvested in other areas off the Louisiana coast are safe to eat.
