The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is getting a lot of attention with their social media post aimed at bringing awareness about proper hurricane preparedness but missed the mark with a superhero reference.
It all started with a social media post referencing the popular Netflix show Stranger Things.
The sheriff’s office got blowback about the odd show reference which prompted the sheriff’s office social media team to make a correction in a humorous way, and ‘wins’ the internet in the process.
“Our apologies for our earlier post. We clearly underestimated the popularity of the show "Stranger Things" despite the 4th season being the #1 show on Netflix with its 75 million subscribers. But we still wanted to convey the importance of being prepared for hurricane season. So we thought more people would recognize a superhero reference…We just hope we got this one right,” LPSO said in their response post.
Needless to say, commenters on the post have been having fun with this one.
