Early voting for the November 18th general election wraps up Saturday.
Election officials say turnout has been underwhelming so far.
John Tobler, Deputy Secretary for Communications with the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office, says turnout thus far is now in the ballpark of around 30,000.
While he says voters elected Jeff Landry governor in last month's primary election, he says, "The three offices on the early voting ballot Secretary of State, Attorney General and Treasurer are important offices to the state. We do encourage people to participate."
Tobler says there remain four constitutional amendments to be voted on, "As well as in many parts of the state, other elements of local propositions and local elections that are runoffs that people still need to vote on."
Early voting began last Friday, but tomorrow voting will not take place due to the holiday in observance of Veterans Day.
Voting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. both today and Saturday.
Tobler says, "It is important that people remember that the best way to make your voice heard is to participate, and we encourage them to get out and vote."
