Louisiana's own Karen Waldrup a finalist on 'The Voice'

Louisiana's own Karen Waldrup is one step closer to winning "The Voice."

The 37-year-old singer, from Mandeville, advanced to the finals on Tuesday night.

Waldrup, who represents Team Dan + Shay, was the first finalist announced in the "Top 5" after the audience vote.

She'll be going up against Nathan Chester (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba), Asher HaVon (Team Reba) and Bryan Olesen (Team Legend)

In her last performance, Waldrup sang "Stay" by Sugarland in a bid to win America's vote to get into the finals.

Now, she's hoping to win the whole competition. Waldrup has just one more shot on Monday, May 20 to wow the audience. The Season 25 winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 21.

According to her website, Waldrup has scored 12 Nashville Industry Music Awards, won the 2019 Torch Award from the Keith Whitley Fingerprint on Country Music Awards, and was named 2023 Top 5 Artist to Watch by Country Evolution. She recently released her new album Kendall County Road.
