When the nightmare fuel that is the New Orleans Pelicans’ King Cake Baby mascot takes you to task, you know you done messed up.
With a huge women’s basketball showdown on tap at the PMAC Thursday between South Carolina and homestanding LSU, and with Carnival season in full swing in Louisiana, ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe magnanimously gifted the women’s hoops College Gameday crew with a king cake.
The delicacy from the St. Bruno Bread Co. was then murdered on live television.
“Where’s the baby?” screamed the analysts as they tore into it with their hands, and the clip has quickly gone viral for all the wrong reasons in Bayou Country.
The responses, many of which comically chastised the women for their ferocity in dismantling the sugary treat, included an admonishment from one of the NBA’s most terrifying mascots.
“You know, we're living in a society! We're supposed to act in a civilized way!” King Cake Baby wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
