A Houma woman is facing vehicular homicide and vehicular negligent injuring charges in connection with a Terrebonne Parish crash that left two children dead and another in the hospital.
That crash happened on the afternoon of June 5 on LA 311 near Fellowship Lane in Schriever.
State troopers say Cherri Breaux was driving drunk when she turned into the path of a commercial truck. Breaux's 12-year-old and six-year-old passengers died from injuries sustained in the crash. A third child in her car suffered moderate injuries.
According to investigators, toxicology reports showed that Breaux's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit of .08 when the crash occurred. However, troopers did not say what exactly Breaux's BAC was.
Breaux, 31, was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail on Wednesday. The case remains under investigation.
