A vehicle crash kills one man and injures a passenger because they were not wearing their seat belts says the Louisiana State Police.
It happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. Friday morning on LA 182 near Savanne Road in Houma.
The crash killed 31-year-old Kalob Brassier. Troopers say Brassier was driving his 2001 Ford F-150 when for unknown reasons he drove off the roadway near a bend in the road. His truck hit, killing Brassier and injuring his passenger. Troopers say neither were wearing a seatbelt. Results of a toxicology report are still pending but troopers say impairment is not suspected at this time.
Investigators with Troop C say they have investigated 29 fatal crashes resulting in 31 deaths so far this year.
