A man driving the wrong way on a highway in Terrebonne Parish was killed in a head-on collision according to Louisiana State Police.
The crash claimed the life of Paul Chevalier, 51, of Lafayette.
It happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. Monday morning on Highway 90 near LA Highway 24.
An LSP report says, “The preliminary investigation revealed Chevalier, who was driving a 2007 Dodge Charger, was traveling east in the westbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 90.
For reasons still under investigation, the Dodge struck a westbound Ford pickup head-on in the left lane of U.S. Hwy 90.”
Although Chevalier was properly restrained, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Ford were also properly restrained. The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital with severe injuries while the passenger was transported with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
