The preseason AFCA Coaches Poll has LSU ranked 12th. It’s the 23rd time in the last 24 years the Tigers have opened the season ranked in the Top 25. Last year, they were ranked fifth heading into the season opener against Florida State.

Nine of the 16 teams in the SEC are in the Top 25 and four of them are on LSU’s schedule, Alabama at number five, Ole Miss is ranked sixth, Oklahoma is ranked 16th and Texas A&M is ranked 20th.

LSU is getting ready for its season opener against USC on September 1st. The Trojans are ranked 23rd in the AFCA Coaches preseason poll.
