The Lake Pontchartain Causeway is closes a few miles before Mandeville due to a "major accident."
Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou says the wreck involved four vehicles.
He said rescue crews have to cut one vehicle apart to remove its occupant.
Causeway officials say the bridge's estimated reopening is around 6 p.m.
