The suspect accused of shooting and paralyzing a UNO student in 2022 is back in custody after authorities say he cut off his electronic monitoring device used to track him during his home confinement.
TaTa Say was arrested in July and booked on armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder charges in connection with the shooting of Noah Hansard. According to authorities, Say was free on bond with a home confinement order. However, Say allegedly removed his monitoring device early Monday morning, the day his trial was scheduled to begin. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest several hours later.
Federal marshals say they arrested Say early Tuesday morning at a relative's home. He was taken to the Orleans Parish Jail where he was booked on new charges stemming from his alleged removal of his ankle monitor.
No word on when Say's trial will begin.
