The Kenner Police Department says on June 27, they responded to reports of an injured man lying in the intersection of Reverend Richard Wilson Boulevard and Alliance Street.
Responding officers found the victim who was severely beaten with a broken leg, a broken arm, and injuries to his face.
The victim told the police that he was from Houston and was in Kenner to meet up with Mishanda Reed, whom he says he knew from college.
Mishanda gave told the victim to meet at an address on Lloyd Price Avenue, in Kenner.
The victim tells police when he arrived he was confronted by Mishanda’s husband, Malcolm Reed, who was armed with a handgun.
Police say the victim was zip-tied to a chair and interrogated for several hours regarding his relationship with Mishanda Reed.
He was beaten with a bat, cut with a knife, and a gun held to his head throughout the ordeal. The personal belongings of the victim were found to be missing according to Kenner Police.
The victim tells police he was unaware that Mishanda Reed was married.
Police searched the Kenner home where the victim says he was held and beaten. Inside they found evidence supporting the victim’s story according to authorities.
On Wednesday, U.S. Marshals arrested the couple in Durham, North Carolina. Both are awaiting extradition back to Louisiana where they face several charges including kidnapping and aggravated assault.
