New Orleans Police say gunfire killed three people Sunday in New Orleans East.
"The NOPD is investigating a double homicide," Public Relations Specialist Karen Boudrie said in an email. "Three people were shot in the 5900 Block of Boeing Street."
She says two victims died quickly, a third person was hospitalized.
"Two persons, an adult male and an adult female were reported deceased at the scene by EMS and another adult male was transported to a loca hospital for treatment."
Bourdrie says it happened just after 2:00pm.
A short time later, she emailed to say the third victim had died.
"The third victim that had been taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound has been declared deceased at the hospital."
A news release said the female victim was a 50-year-old woman. One of the men was a 31-year old male. They did not know the other male's age.
