The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says a woman is recovering from a gunshot wound to her leg, and the man who shot her killed himself.
According to authorities, the gunman forced his way into the woman's home in the 4700 block of Fourth Street in Marrero this morning.
Investigators say the 61-year-old man shot the 55-year-old victim in her leg. He then fatally shot himself.
The victim is in stable condition at a nearby hospital.
