Police on the Northshore say a train hit a man Sunday night.
"A man died after being struck by a train near Slidell," Lieutenant Suzanne Carboni said in a news release. "St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Haas Road near Highway 11 after a train conductor reported striking a person on the tracks."
She says the showed up and found the body.
"Responding deputies located an unidentified white male deceased in the grass on the east side of the tracks. The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the body and will conduct a positive identification."
It happened Shortly before 7:30pm.
