The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that happened Thursday night on Interstate 10 West near the Interstate 610 West exit.
“At around 9:22 p.m., NOEMS responded to the location for a two-vehicle accident with injury. Upon arrival, they discovered one male victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said an NOPD report.
Police say the victim was driving a sedan westbound on I-10 when, for unknown reasons, he sideswiped another vehicle traveling in the far-left lane. After the initial impact, the victim’s vehicle continued to move several feet--hitting both the right and left guardrails, before stopping.
No one else was injured in the crash.
