A man is in jail and another is in the hospital after an early mo rning shooting in the Central Business District.
According to the New Orleans Police Department's major offense log, the incident happened just before 3 a.m. on Gravier Street near Carondolet Street.
Investigators say Jkedric Dews and the victim were arguing when Dews pulled a gun and shot the victim several times through a door. The victim was later taken to a hospital. Authorities did not disclose his condition.
Dews, 36, was arrested shortly after the incident. He's in the Orleans Parish Jail on attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and discharging a gun during a violent crime charges. No bond has been set.
