A Terrebonne Parish man is facing second-degree murder and hit-and-run charges in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian.
It happened just before 1 p.m. Friday on Martin Luther King Boulevard and West Main Street in Houma.
According to investigators, Jamie Wallace, Sr., intentionally targeted the pedestrian, running over him before speeding away. The pedestrian, whom authorities have identifed only as a man from Lockport, later died at a hospital. Authorities say they are still trying to develop a motive.
Deputies say they arrested Wallace, 42, after they found him and the car used in the crash at a nearby business. He remains in jail without bond.
The case remains under investigation.
