New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting near the intersection of Old Gentilly Road and Providence Place.
Police say shortly before 5:45 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to investigate a traffic accident at that location.
"Arriving officers discovered a 20-year old male gunshot wound victim behind the wheel of a vehicle at the location," said police in a statement. "The victim was pronounced dead at the scene."
