Six months after the crash that killed Xavier University graduate Patricia Saidu, thirty year old Manmeet Singh has been arrested.

Louisiana State Police say Singh was driving the wrong way on I-10 in Laplace back in September and hit Saidu head-on. Both vehicles erupted in flames, Saidu died at the scene. Singh was taken to a hospital. After police obtained a warrant for his arrest in October, the trail on him went cold.

On Friday, Singh was taken into custody in Madison, Mississippi with the assistance of Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans and the FBI.

Singh awaits extradition back to Louisiana. Once he is back in St. John the Baptist Parish, he will be booked on vehicular homicide, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and driving in the wrong direction charges.
