Joseph Lewis, who was at the wheel of a car that crashed under the I-10 at the Loyola Ave, interchange in Kenner last week, bursting into flames, died Friday, Kenner Police said today.
The wreck last Friday morning also claimed the life of Charmaine Wallace.
Wallace was pronounced dead on site of the wreck. Officers responding to the crash found the vehicle "engulfed in flames," according to police. The first responding officer and a bystander were able to pull Lewis from the wreck, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Family and friends of the victims held a memorial Monday at the crash site.
