Police in New Orleans are investigating a double shooting in the 7th Ward that took the life of a man and injured a 15-year-old girl.
It happened Monday morning in the 1800 block of North Miro Street.
“At around 1:05 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers were patrolling the area when they heard shots fired. As officers were responding, 911 dispatchers alerted them to an aggravated battery by shooting in the same location where the victims, a male and female, were transported to the hospital by private conveyance. The adult male victim (DOB: 2/18/93) passed away at the hospital, while the juvenile female victim (15 YO) is expected to survive,” according to an NOPD report.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine the person or persons responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
