Police in New Orleans are investigating a crash that killed man in the 3700 block of Gentilly Boulevard Thursday evening.
It happened at around 5:43 p.m. according to a police report.
“NOPD Third District officers responded to a traffic accident with injury call at the location. Upon arrival, officer discovered an overturned vehicle and a 20-year-old male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene,” said the report.
“The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim, driving vehicle #1, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Gentilly Boulevard. At some point, and for unknown reasons, he struck another car (vehicle #2) before leaving the roadway. Vehicle#1 hit two trees and two poles before coming to rest. The driver of vehicle #2, a woman, stayed on scene and has no reported injuries.”
