Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reports that his office received a call Tuesday around 9:05 p.m. about a man shot inside a home in the 700 block of Parkway Avenue.
Sheriff Lopinto says shortly after, deputies arrived and found an unconscious man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injury.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until a family member can be notified.
The shooting suspect was on the scene when deputies arrived and has been detained pending further investigation.
