Fire tore through a home at 3205 Canal Street in New Orleans Monday night.
Fire crews arrived to find smoke and flames.
"An adult male resident, the only occupant at the time of the fire, was pulled from a window during the primary search of the dwelling," NOFD Captain Edwin Holmes said in a news release. "He was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation."
EMS took the man to the hospital.
"Seventeen NOFD units, supported by forty-six firefighters, were used to bring this incident under control."
Holmes says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
