A man was hospitalized after gunfire around 4:00am in New Orleans.
NOPD says the call came in from Lizardi Street and Saint Claude Avenue.
“Initial reports show a male gunshot wound victim has been transported from the scene via EMS,” Senior Public Information Officer Aaron Looney said in an email.
He did not say the victim’s condition.
The victim was reportedly in a car at the time of the shooting.
The initial police report says, "The suspect approached him and took his gun. The victim attempted to leave, and the suspect fired shots into his vehicle striking him to the body."
