Man shot in head in Boutte

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office says a Westbank resident thought someone was trespassing in his backyard. Moments later he was shot in the head.

Detectives are asking for help solving the case.


"A shooting ... occurred Wednesday, May 31, 2023, around 10:30 P.M. in the 200 block of Boutte Estates Drive in Boutte, LA.," according to a news release. "When deputies arrived at the location, they located a twenty-seven-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the head."

Authorities say the man made it to the hospital.

"Through investigation, Detectives have learned the victim notified family members that he believed someone was in the backyard of their residence. The victim entered the rear bedroom and shortly after, his mother heard a single loud gunshot. The mother entered the rear bedroom and found her son suffering from a gunshot wound to the head."

They say they investigation is ongoing.
