Cops responded to gunfire near the downtown U.S. Post Office Monday night.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 700 block of Loyola Avenue," according to a news release. "Initial information shows an adult male sustained at least one gunshot wound."
It happened shortly after 10:00pm.
An initial police report says the victim would not tell officers what happened that resulted in his shooting.
"Officers responding to call of shot person found victim with gunshot wound. Despite efforts to gather information, victim remained uncooperative."
Police have not said anything about his condition.
"The victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS."
Also no word on suspects.
