The New Orleans Police Department is looking for a man suspected of stealing from area mailboxes, and hitting an officer with his car.
According to police, officers tried to stop 21-year-old Ronald Stephen Riley Jr. Friday morning when he approached a mail drop in the 800 block of Harrison Ave., but Riley fled in his vehicle, striking and injuring an officer.
Riley faces charges of battery of a police officer and resisting a police officer with force or violence with injury. He also faces federal charges regarding theft from mail boxes.
