A man wanted in a St. Claude murder investigation turned himself in to police on Tuesday.
Authorities say Jamon Edwards became the primary suspect in their fatal shooting investigation that happened in the 1600 block of France Street.
“At about 9:54 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside of a residence having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene,” said a NOPD report.
After turning himself in, Edwards was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count each of second-degree murder, domestic abuse – child endangerment and simple criminal damage to property.
Anyone with any additional information regarding this incident is asked to call NOPD Homicide Det. Aaron Harrelson at 504-658-5300.
