New Orleans Police say a man trying to defend his home, ended up getting injured with the weapon he was wielding.
"Victim went outside armed with hatchet after suspect had been banging on victim’s door," according to an initial police report.
It happened in the Bywater neighborhood just after 7:00am on Friday near the corner of Gallier St. and Royal St.
"Altercation ensued and victim sustained multiple cuts Victim transported to local hospital via EMS."
The suspect got away.
No word on the 40-year-old victim's condition.
