Mandina’s shooting suspect Kyron Fazande is wanted in both Jefferson and St. Bernard Parish.
The 22-year-old is facing second degree murder charges and aggravated battery for the killing of Hilbert Walker III, a waiter at Mandina’s.
Walker is alleged to have ambushed Walker outside the restaurant on Friday April 29th.
Fazande is also facing additional charges related to the shooting of a Mandina’s patron inside the restaurant when a stray bullet went through the wall and struck the 54-year-old tourist from Chicago.
Fazande is wanted in Jefferson Parish on bench warrant after pleading guilty to possessing drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest in October.
The warrant was issued after he reportedly didn’t show up for court and was held in contempt.
Fazande is also facing charges in St. Bernard Parish for illegal possession of a weapon from an October 2021 arrest.
He was sentenced to 4-years in prison but was released on goodtime parole June 22, 2022.
“I hope he gets what he deserves,” Hilbert Walker II told WWL-TV.
“I forgive him for what he did and I’m praying for him and his family also. I’m very glad they caught him.”
Fazande has reportedly been meeting his obligation appointments with his parole officer, has a job, and a place to live.
“They keep getting a slap on the wrist,” Walker said.
“That’s why they keep committing crimes. I just hope this time it won’t be the same. I’m praying and hoping for that.”
