Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies and firefighters are investigating a house fire that left a man dead.
It happened just after noon Monday on Westwood Drive just off the Westbank Expressway.
According to a JPSO spokesperson, firefighters found the man inside the house while battling the blaze. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the fire appears to have been accidental, but they did not say what the cause was.
