The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said Friday that a January shooting in Marrero is now a homicide case.
According to the sheriff's office, Curtis Lawrence was wounded in the shooting that happened January 5 in the 500 block of Ames Blvd.
"Two unknown shooters fired at an unknown male outside of a bar at approximately 12:25 am," said Capt. Jason Rivarde with the sheriff's office. "Two uninvolved people, Mr. Lawrence and a female victim, were both injured by gunfire."
Lawrence died last week.
The female victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
