Another grim marker in the march of violent crime in New Orleans has been passed.
The Metropolitan Crime Commission says the city has officially passed the number of all homicides racked up in 2020.
Standing at 203, the number of homicides by shooting is at 157.

There were 201 homicides in 2020.
The numbers represent a 142% increase over 2019 and a 46% change over 2021.
Going higher than a 142% increase is the number of carjackings: up 211% between 2019 and 2022 but slowing to a 12% increase over last year.
