Expect military helicopters and the sounds of things blowing up around New Orleans the next few days.
"The New Orleans Police Department is advising residents and visitors that U.S. military will conduct a scheduled training exercise in the New Orleans metropolitan area from September 21 through September 26," NOPD advised.
Authorities say military helicopters will be operating at low altitude.
They also warn of "loud noises or sounds resembling explosions associated with the exercise."
NOPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team will be working with the military.
"These activities are part of a planned training operation and are not related to an active threat or emergency. Residents and visitors should not be alarmed if they observe increased military aircraft activity or hear unusual noise during the scheduled training period."
