St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s deputies say two girls who went missing Monday evening have been found and are safe.
According to a Facebook post on the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office’s page, Abigail Bourg, 7, and Cecilia Bourg, 4, went missing around 5 p.m. while playing with their golden retriever in the front yard of their home on N. Willie Road near Green Thumb Lane near Folsom. The post said deputies had deployed a helicopter to search a nearby wooded area.
Nearly four-and-a-half hours after the girls went missing, deputies posted to Facebook that both girls and the dog had been located.
Sheriff’s office officials thanked Louisiana State Police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the search.
No details about the girls’ rescue have been released.
