More parking, new concourses: Armstrong International offers update on master plan

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is detailing its master plan, including new parking, concourses, and passenger shuttle system, in a video presentation posted online.

Airports are required to update their master plans every seven to ten years under FAA rules.

The plan present by MSY shows where they foresee building new concourses, along with new parking garages with 3,00 to 4,000 new parking spaces, to grow with anticipated growth in air travel.

It also mentions changes to Terminal Drive to make it easier for ground transportation to make it to and from the interstate, and taxiway improvements to improve efficiency in moving aricraft from runways to the gates.
