Another water main busts wide open in Uptown New Orleans, most of the East Bank under precautionary boil water advisory

New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board crews overnight responded to deep water filling streets in uptown New Orleans.

"Major Water Main Break in resulting about 2 feet of water in the area," NOLA Ready advised. "If safe to do so resident should try to move their vehicles to an unaffected area."

Officials say another pipe burst.

"Be advised areas surrounding S Carrollton and Panola Street will be closed to traffic due to a water main break," NOPD advised.

SWB advised, "We are aware that some customers are experiencing little to no water pressure."

Shortly after 6:00am, authorities issued the following:

Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), in consultation with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has issued a precautionary boil water advisory (BWA) for a large portion of East Bank of New Orleans which includes 3 areas that include Uptown, the CBD, French Quarter, 9th Ward, Mid City, and Gentilly, as well as two separate areas in New Orleans East.
