NOPD says a man died Sunday night after crashing his motorcycle in Gentilly Woods.
"Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Fatality Section are investigating a traffic accident that left a 51-year-old local man dead," Officer Garry Flot said in an email. "The accident occurred at approximately 6:53 p.m., at Chef Highway and France Road."
It happened on the Danziger Bridge.
"The driver... lost control of his motorcycle and struck the guard rail. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his motorcycle."
The man went over the guard rail and landed on the street below.
"Emergency Medical Personnel pronounced the driver of the motorcycle dead on the scene."
The crash remains under investigation.
