New Orleans Police are looking for clues after a man was shot dead Thursday night.
"The NOPD is investigating a homicide by shooting," according to a news release. "Officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 7700 block of Briarwood Drive."
The call came in just after 5:30pm.
"Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim outside on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS."
Cops did detain "a male subject" on the scene.
