The Louisiana Supreme Court has vacated the arrest warrant tied to Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's indictment.
That decision came one day after the Supreme Court stayed the indictment itself over alleged procedural issues and possible conflicts of interest between the special prosecutor and the AG's office.
On Saturday, the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that it has recalled the arrest warrant.
“The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office is complying with all official court orders as they are received,” OPSO officials said in a statement. “As soon as the Supreme Court’s orders were transmitted this morning, by counsel for the accused, we took immediate steps to have OPSO staff remove warrants from all databases. At this time we can confirm that warrants in this matter have been removed from the NCIC and CastNet databases.”
Murrill celebrated her latest legal victory on social media.
“Another WIN - Louisiana Supreme Court BLOCKS New Orleans special prosecutor’s refusal to remove the arrest warrant,” Murrill posted. “She is ORDERED to comply.”
