New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and other city officials today marked the reopening of Canal Street at the site of the Hard Rock Hotel construction collapse.
“We have remained responsible in ensuring that those responsible for the collapse...did everything that was necessary to clean it up...clean up their mess and return our street back to our people, back to our businesses, back to the people of New Orleans,” said Cantrell.
The intersection of Canal Street and North Rampart Street has been barricaded closed for more than 18 months since the collapse, which killed three construction workers.
