As storms approach the New Orleans area, New Orleans city officials are opening up neutral grounds in the city for parking.
According to NOLA Ready, neutral ground parking will be allowed until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers are reminded not to block sidewalks, bike paths, street car tracks, or other public rights of way.
Officials say heavy rains could cause flooding in low-lying areas of the city.
