An Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office employee is facing human trafficking and drugs charges.
Ronald Baptiste is facing one count each of false imprisonment, simple battery, and purchasing alcohol for a person under the age of 21. Authorities have not released specific details about the case. However, OPSO officials say Baptiste was off duty when the criminal acts allegedly occurred.
The OPSO hired Baptiste in 2024.
The New Orleans Police Department is leading the investigation. OPSO officials say they are cooperating with that investigation.
