New Orleans police say they arrested William West, Jr., on Tuesday on a warrant for second-degree murder and booked him into the Orleans Parish Prison.

The shooting happened just after midnight on May 12 near the corner or North Derbigny and Columbus Streets.

According to investigators, West shot Ferdinand Woolens at a high school graduation party. Woolens, 18, died three days later at a hospital.
