Mixed martial artist Nate Diaz has won his latest fight—this one with New Orleans law enforcement authorities.
On Monday, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams announced that he is not going to pursue second-degree battery charges against Diaz following his arrest for his involvement in a Bourbon Street fight. According to our partners at NOLA.com, officials in the District Attorney’s Office said they reviewed video evidence of the incident and that they found there “is not sufficient support to prove the alleged crime.”

Diaz surrendered to New Orleans authorities on April 27 after a warrant was issued for his arrest. According to court documents, Diaz put a man in a chokehold during a Bourbon Street brawl in the early morning hours of April 21. The documents said after the other man went limp, Diaz let him go, causing the other man’s head to hit the concrete. Video of that fight went viral on social media.
Diaz and his attorney claimed Diaz was defending himself against someone who “aggressively pursued” Diaz in an effort to fight him. The man Diaz choked out claimed he doesn’t know what caused the fracas.
